You will learn basic shibori & itajime technique and dye one bandana in Japanese fermenting “sukumo” indigo vat. Each session takes 30 min per person. All material and tools will be provided (no bring-in items). Sashiko Stitch Workshop by Atsushi Futatsuya of Sashi.Co 1-4pm 6 spots per session $135 per person Duration: 3 hours Sign-up here: curiouscorners.eventbrite.com This is a rare opportunity to learn sashiko stitching technique from the master Atsushi Futatsuya, the third generation of a surviving sashiko family in Gifu prefecture, Japan. The workshop comes with a complete kit of sashiko needles, a sashiko thimble, a skein of white sashiko thread, and fabric with traditional Asano-ha patterns printed on. You will learn basic sashiko stitching, embroidery techniques and go home with a fabric large enough to make a tote bag, placemat, patchworking, or your own project after the workshop.
