KUON Summer/Spring 2017 Collection
Tokyo-based menswear brand KUON is unveiling its 2017 Summer & Spring collection in NY in this September. In addition to their signature Boro series, they have further explored Japanese textile heritages in this collection. Working with surviving mills in Northern Japan, KUON has created original textiles of sashiko-ori and sakkora-ori. Sashiko-ori is machine woven Sashiko, developed over four generations of the Sanwa Orimono family in Fukushima Prefecture. Sakkora-ori is a contemporary Sashiko weaving technique supported by Sakkora Japan in Iwate Prefecture. Come visit the preview and see how KUON has translated those traditional crafts into contemporary daily wear. The collection includes the brand's first denim made with a mill in Okayama.
