Erin Wilson at KOFU showroom
We are pleased to announce the opening of KOFU showroom in Chelsea, NYC. For our inaugural exhibition, we will be showing our latest collaboration with Erin Wilson, a master quilter based in Brooklyn, NY, who makes intricate piecework rooted in architectural imagery. We provided Wilson with swatches of vintage and heritage fabric from Japan, most of which were leftovers from our production. Wilson magically pieced such “wasteful” small fabric swatches together, and “upcycled” them into irresistible works of art. The show also includes Wilson’s Shape Study series, made with her own hand-dyed fabrics.
Along with Wilson’s works, we will also display the latest KOFU collection of one-of-a-kind home goods made from traditional Japanese fabric, including fully hand-embroidered “sashiko” pieces, vintage “boro”, and ikat fabrics. September 21- Oct 7

About Erin Wilson Erin Wilson makes quilts rooted in hand-dyed color, architectural imagery, and intricate piecework. She recently completed a commission for the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and has had solo exhibitions in NYC and Yokohama, Japan. Her quilts have been shown at a variety of venues, including the New England Quilt Museum, the Dairy Barn Arts Center, and the National Quilt Museum. She lives and works in a hand-built home in Brooklyn, NY.
About KOFU KOFU is a in-house home collection of Curious Corners, an indigo dyeing studio based in Brooklyn, NY. Collaborating with textile artisans from Japan, including a 35 year old sashiko embroidery master in Gifu, family-owned kasuri (Japanese ikat) weaving mills in Hirosima, and indigo dye houses in Saitama, KOFU presents home decorative textile goods, which bring stories from Japan to your living and bedrooms.
